The Syrian conflict started becoming violent after the day Assad’s army opened fire on protesters. A portion of Assad’s army, who supported the rebels, broke away from Assad and join the rebels. They call themselves the Free Syrian Army.

To avoid further losses and conflict, the rebels and the Free Syrian Army moved towards Jordan. To make it more difficult for foreign forces to help and supply the rebels, Assad released a big portion of his jihadist prisoners for them to form a new terrorist group in Syria, North of the rebels. The jihadists now form their new Al-Qaeda group in Syria.

The Kurds, inspired by the rebels, decide to take up arms against Assad.

Iran, Assad’s only ally, starts sending money and troops to support Assad. To respond to this act, the Gulf States start to send money to rebels through Turkey.

The situation escalates and Hezbollah, a Lebanese powerful political and military organization takes Assad’s side. At this point in the war it is basically a fight between the Sunni (rebels and their allies), and the Shia (Assad and his allies) branches of Islam.
The situation keeps escalating and in 2013 Assad uses one of his chemical bombs on the rebel city of Ghouta. Around, 1700 people were killed around 280 French intelligence and around 350 UK intelligence.

To help the rebels protect and defend themselves, the CIA starts training the rebels.

All this time, the Al-Qaeda has also been causing problems to everybody, but when the leader of the terrorist group in the country starts having ideas for the group that not everybody agreed on, things go bad for the leader. To prevent bloodshed, the leader breaks away from the group with a small number of militants and creates ISIS.

The new ISIS group decides to declare war on the Kurds who have been resisting the Al-Qaeda group in the past.

It is now a mess in Syria and the Russians joins in claiming that they will bomb ISIS. Russia, not sticking to their word bomb the rebels instead. That is where Aleppo comes in. The Russian army decides to bomb a city called Aleppo in the North-West of Syria.

Aleppo is a hospital city which means there are a lot of sick and wounded people already. At least 16 people were killed at wake during the most recent bombing and 525 people during April through July of 2016.
